Why can't you use your credit card for gambling online?  Here's the deal...

All online casinos accept credit cards for use in gambling at their website.  However, your bank may see by the name of the transaction that you are using your credit card at a gambling website and thus prevent you from using that particular card for gambling online.

It does seem outrageous that you should not be able to use your own money to do what you please with, but the reason the large banks do this is to protect themselves.

This is what happens...after a person sees the signs that blink loudly and say WIN BIG! and FREE MONEY! a person gets falsely excited and clicks on the banner and proceeds to the website that has made that advertisement.  The person then gambles, and most likely loses, sometimes more than a few hundred dollars. The next day they realize what they have done and they feel cheated.  They then can go to their bank and say that gambling is illegal and that they should not have been able to gamble so easily and that they want their money back.  Because of this, to prevent these large and frequent chargebacks which the banks lose a great deal of money on, the larger, more reputable banks simply refuse to allow their customers to gamble online using their credit card.

Banks do this to protect themselves, however, gambling online is legal.  This is why... The website you go to that is called an online casino gives you an option to choose to download their free software.  You download that software, then you install it on your computer and begin playing for free.  If at any time you choose to play for real money you go to a link that brings you to payment options.  If you deposit money, you are actually depositing money into an account which is held somewhere offshore, usually in the Dominican Republic, or Antigua, or some other offshore place where gambling IS legal. Gambling may be illegal in your neck of the woods, but technically the gambling is going on at the offshore place where gambling is legal.

There are ways of gambling online using your credit card, just not directly.  You must go to a third party site where you can deposit money into an account that is held online.  A site like this would be Neteller or Firepay.  Once you deposit the money into an account like that, you can then go to the casino of your choice and deposit money using the Neteller or Firepay option that just about every online casino offers you these days.

Gambling on the internet is safer than keeping money at your own bank.  There are a couple reasons why this is true.  First, you must realize that casinos want you to gamble.  They want you to win.  They want you to win because the more you win, the more you will want to come back and play.  Therefore, the online casinos pay you out more accurately, and screw you over less, than your bank, almost gauranteed. A casino would lose money in the long run by stealing a couple hundred dollars from you.  They know that over the years you are going to spend much more than a couple hundred dollars gambling at their casino, so they do everything they can to keep you happy and satisfied.

The second reason that an online casino is safer than your bank is that the actual encryption codes are better at an online casino.  The reputable online casinos use 128 bit encryption which makes it almost impossible for any hacker to break the code.  Your bank uses 64 bit encryption which is also very safe, but just imagine double the safety, that is an online casino.

That being said...do your research before you start gambling online.
